Many of us are old enough to remember the days of reading the black and white pages of a thing called a newspaper to get caught up with the news. The black ink on the finger tips and the rifling of the paper to keep it from folding over as you read it. Then, along came Facebook and its friends, posts, timelines, and just like in real news, crap you don’t want to see.
Well, as of today (Feb 3rd) Facebook has released a new app, and guess what, it’s called “Paper”.
The new app offers a new viewing aspect of your timeline and looks very similar to an already popular app called “Flipboard”. Like Flipboard, Paper allows you to select the topics you want to read about and remove the ones you have no interest in. So far it seems to clean up the junk, and provides a layout that is easy to read in horizontal scrolls and view videos in full screen. However, you won’t be able to do some things with Paper as you can with the original. I mainly like that it gives a new view of the old timeline of the original Facebook app.
If you are ready to try Facebook Paper, it’s available in iTunes. Currently Facebook has not announced when the app will be available on Android.
